What Is the Pomodoro Technique?

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo. You work in focused 25-minute intervals ("pomodoros") separated by short 5-minute breaks. After four pomodoros, take a longer 15-30 minute break. This rhythm helps maintain focus and prevent burnout.

How to Use This Timer

Click Start to begin a 25-minute focus session. When the timer ends, you'll hear a notification. Take your short break, then start another focus session. After completing 4 focus sessions, take a long break. You can customize all durations in the settings below.

Tips for Maximum Productivity

During focus time, eliminate all distractions — close social media, silence notifications, and commit to one task. During breaks, step away from your screen. Stand up, stretch, or grab water. The key is making breaks genuinely restful so your focus sessions stay sharp.
